Saint Phanourios

Very Little is known about St Phanourios, except that he has performed many miracles. He is traditionally the Saint of Lost Articles. If you lose something you can ask St Phanourios to help you find it and you can make him a cake (a Phanourbitta) in his honour. This cake is left in the Church during the Divine Liturgy where it is blessed. It is distributed after the Divine Liturgy to the Congregation .Orthodox Christians celebrate his name day on 27 August each year. His church was found whilst excavating old ruins on Rhodes in the fourteenth century. His icon when found, looked like new, and depicted twelve scenes from his martyrdom on it.He was dreesed in military clothing carrying a cross. The hierarch who found his icon believed that Phanourios was a Martyr . He travelled to Constantinople and got a decree to allow him to re-build the Church. He restored the Church and to this day it is a source of many miracles.

Phanourobitta: The Phanourobitta is made from seven ingredients.
Before you eat a slice of the Phanourobitta you must say "May God have mercy on St Phanourios Mother." It is not known why people say this. Some say it is because his mother was a sinner, while others say it is said out of respect.
The Phanourobitta is made entirely from fasting ingredients. It has no dairy products in it. It is believed that this cake must be given to at least seven people from different families to eat. None must be thrown away. It must all be consumed. Once this is done, you will get a resolution to your problem in a matter of time.

9 tablespoons of orange juice
