| Panayia Faneromeni (fanervmenh): The Monastery is on the island of Salamina, and was built in the seventeenth century.The Virgin Mary appeared to a man called Lambros as he was called then, and told him that on the island of Salamina she had a desolate church. She told him to go and find it and rebuild it.Lambros did not believe the dream. The Virgin Mary appeared to him a second and third time and told him the same.Eventually Lambros decided to do as he was told, and went to find a ship to cross over to the island.This proved impossible as a storm was raging and the ships were in port.The Virgin Mary told him to lay his cloak on the sea, to sit on it and he would be transported to the island. This he did. He made it to the island, found the church and the icon in it. He rebuilt it and became known as Lawrence.
